Discover Card has a large menu of rewards and cash-back credit cards. Most of these cards are basic; very few cards in Discovery’s line have annual fees. The strength of Discover Card is its cash back rewards program. Card-holders can earn up to 5% cash back on purchases in select categories or at select retailers. Most of Discover’s credit cards offer a 2%-3% cash-back on general purchases. While Discover Card is widely accepted, it is not as widely accepted as Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Also, fewer businesses outside of the US accept Discover, making it a less obvious choice for frequent travelers. However, new customers with a decent credit history have a very good chance of qualifying for an introductory 0% APR. This will allow new users to earn cash-back rewards without having to pay interest. Aside from basic cash-back cards, Discover also has students cards, such as the Discover Student Card, and airline miles cards, such as Miles by Discover. Discover is a good choice for consumers who want a basic, no-frills card with a solid rewards or cash-back program.
